Case Study: Castelli Canada — Brand Story Strengthening, Integration & Product Experience Design
Overview
Castelli Canada, a premium Italian B2B journal brand, required a more immersive way to communicate its heritage and craftsmanship within the product itself.
The objective was to move beyond traditional marketing materials and integrate brand storytelling directly into the journal experience, ensuring that each product reflects Castelli’s identity through both design and interaction.
My Role
As Marketing Strategist and Lead Designer, I led the concept development, design, and documentation of a product-integrated brand storytelling system, aligning visual identity, messaging, and user experience across physical and marketing touchpoints.
Concept: Italian Identity Series
To translate Castelli’s heritage into a cohesive visual language, I developed the Italian Identity Series—a collection of custom deboss artwork concepts inspired by architecture, craftsmanship, and daily Italian life.
Product Integration
The deboss artwork was designed to be applied across product lines, transforming each journal into a storytelling piece rather than a standalone product.
In parallel, I developed guided tip-in content inserts to:
Introduce the brand story within the journal
Demonstrate product functionality
Reinforce Castelli’s positioning as a premium, thoughtfully designed object
Design System & Documentation
To ensure consistency and scalability, I produced a design rationale document outlining:
Concept development and visual direction
Brand storytelling framework
Guidelines for applying artwork across products and marketing materials
This documentation enabled alignment across teams and supported future expansion of the design system.
Outcome
This work transformed Castelli journals into a cohesive brand experience, where storytelling, design, and product function work together to reinforce the brand’s identity at every touchpoint.
